"I hear you can talk to fish," Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne says to Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry in their first meeting. The aquatic superhero smirks, but an official new Justice League featurette confirms one of Aquaman's classic powers: the ability to communicate with all sea life. Check out the confirmation in the video above.

In addition to his increased strength, speed and durability, it's Aquaman's ability to live underwater and talk to fish that he's best known for. Marvel Studios' Ant-Man is proof enough audiences can buy into a superhero communicating and commanding other lifeforms, and with Geoff Johns as part of the Justice League creative team, it wouldn't be out of the question to expect Aquaman to do something badass like send a wave full of sharks after some attacking Parademons.

We've yet to see Aquaman use his powers over the sea and sea life in any of the footage made available so far, but if he doesn't go all Free Willy in the superhero team up next month, definitely expect to see the full force of the surfer bro's powers in Aquaman, swimming into theaters December 21, 2018. James Wan's blockbuster has been described as "Star Wars underwater," and if that doesn't get you excited for Aquaman (maybe) riding a whale into battle with an army of sharks, nothing will.

Starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, J.K. Simmons, Jeremy Irons and Ciaran Hinds, Justice League opens November 17.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.0comments
