Legends of Tomorrow‘s sophomore season is coming to a close, and a new synopsis indicates that it will go out with a bang.

The CW has released the official synopsis for ‘Aruba’, the upcoming seventeenth episode of Legends‘ second season. While the details are vague, the episode indicates that the team will be directly involved with the Spear of Destiny…which could possibly lead to an ‘ultimate consequence.’

It’s safe to assume that something in the episode will lead to the Spear’s power being seen in action, particularly when looking at the guest stars for the episode. Both Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) and Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) will be appearing in the episode, but given as both characters are dead within the current timeline of the show, it’s still not entirely clear in what capacity they will appear.

Both stars have been seen across the DCTV universe this season through dream sequences and the like, but given their close relationships with members of the Legends team – Laurel with her sister Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), and Snart with his former partner Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) – a running theory is that the characters will appear due to a change from the Spear of Destiny.

Again, it’s unsure what capacity, and what effect the team’s involvement with the Spear of Destiny will have on the larger DCTV universe. Fans will just have to find out for themselves when the episode airs on April 4th, 2017.

SEASON FINALE โ€” As the Legends are about to take off for their next destination, a massive timequake rocks the ship. In order to try and fix what has happened, they are forced to break the one cardinal rule of time travel. But if they are able to destroy the spear, they will face the ultimate consequence.

Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano and Maisie Richardson-Sellers.

Rob Seidenglanz directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim (#217). Original airdate 4/4/2017.
