Fans really like the musical episodes of comic book TV shows, huh?
During a panel at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in London over the weekend, a fan asked Arrow stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Ricards if they would ever participate in a musical episode of their CW series. However, the thought was quickly ruled out by Amell.
"No, no, no, no," Amell said firmly. He quickly turned his attention to Felicity actress Rickards, though, to reveal one of her apparently hidden talents. "I only just found out how good of a singer you are," Amell said.
However, while Amell is against the idea of seeing Oliver Queen belt out any tunes in the name of fighting crime, he was intrigued to find out whether or not the musical talented Rickards would be interested. He asked, "If you were asked to appear on one of the other musical shows, would you do it?"
"Yeah, as long as John Barrowman was there," Rickards ruled.
Of course, the musical banter didn't end there. The fan went on to request a little duet from the actors on stage but Amell shut that down, as well. He did, however, have a suggestion for anyone hope to hear him sing. "You're pressing your luck!" Amell said. "You should just Google us singing at Comic Con last year."
What Amell is referring to is when the cast of Arrow joined voices to sing Hamilton at San Diego Comic Con last July.
Arrow might not have a musical episode in its future but its companion series The Flash and Supergirl had its titular heroes singing to the wrath of the Music Meister in their most recent seasons. Those shows, however, have lead actors who are veterans of the musical series Glee, making them no strangers to singing on camera.
Arrow recently wrapped is fifth season with a shocking cliffhanger that teased tragic fates for multiple characters. We'll find out how it will all turn out when the series returns for Season 6 this fall on the CW.
