In the clip above, after the press conference for Spherical Industries newest unveiling lets out, Lena Luthor is approached by Jack Spheer, the company’s CEO and her former boyfriend. He’s glad that Lena accepted his personal invite to the event and goes in for a hug, which feels awkward. Lena then introduces Jack to her good friend Kara, who came with her as emotional support and grilled the CEO during the press conference.

Lena then gives Kara a look that means she wants some privacy with Jack. Kara excuses herself, saying she has to take off to go write about “the next medical breakthrough.” As she is leaving, another reporter comes up to her. He claims that he has damaging information on Jack and wants to give it to Kara.

Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger.
