We know that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is coming in a few days, and it'll be packed full of retro game goodness, just like the original Crash games provided. But there are also a couple of nods to the game's original developer, Naughty Dog, who has since gone on to develop the Uncharted series, along with The Last of Us.
Some savvy folks in the Reddit community have managed to spot a couple of references to the Uncharted series in some of the game's previously released screenshots. And who knows, the trilogy just might have more of them once it releases, so players can dig even further.
So let's look at the first screen, which you'll find below. In it, Crash and Coco are taking a break on the beach, with the sibling cracking open a laptop to play a quick game. While Crash sits around trying to recover from his run, you can actually take a close look at the laptop screen. As you can make out there, it features Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, as they're apparently on the couch – and keep in mind, that followed the scene where the happy couple were playing a classic level from Crash Bandicoot on the Sony PlayStation. Talk about your Inception-ism.
But that's not all. Another screenshot has emerged where Crash Bandicoot is sitting happily next to a fireplace. But he's not the focus of the screenshot – a framed photo sitting above him is, and right next to a plant is a picture frame that features none other than a picture of…Nathan Drake!
Again, these are just the two of the examples found in the game. Who knows? The three pack might actually be hiding more, since Vicarious Visions is more than aware of Naughty Dog's responsibilities with the Crash Bandicoot franchise. We'll let you know if we find any more, but, for now, gaze upon these screenshots and imagine what other references are included. Hey, how about a Way of the Warrior nod?
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will release this Friday, June 30th, on PlayStation 4.0comments
