Everyone loves cheap stuff. League of Legends players are no different. There's a reason why the skins that feature in the weekly deals tend to be the most represented ones during that week: people love to purchase swag for their favorite champions and they love to do it on the cheap. Even the wealth of free cosmetics that Hextech Crafting unleashed upon the League of Legendsd scene could do nothing to stymie the demand for the game's cosmetic items, of which there are now thousands upon thousands.

Thankfully, Riot has even more discounts headed our way. While skin sales are definitely great and all, they have one huge problem. They don't always give players content that's relevant to them. Riot found a way to solve that problem years ago during one of their Lunar New Year events by designing a system wherein players would get discounts on skins that were for champions they actually enjoyed playing. The personalized shop, as it was christened, took a player's match history into account when it generated the deals that player would have access to over the course of the event, and the idea immediately took off like wildfire.

It's been a while since we've seen the personalized shop nowadays, as Riot's new client wasn't built to handle hosting the personalized shop, but the technology is finally in place to bring it back. As of today, the personalized shop is making its return! For those of you unfamiliar with how the personalized shop works, Riot made sure to write up a quick introduction.

"Discountbot has been hard at work hand-picking your custom deals and is excited to hear what you think. For those not familiar with Your Shop:

  • The thoughtful Discountbot selects six skins that it thinks you'll like and offers them at varying discounts
  • These discounts may include Legacy skins not currently available in the store
  • If you receive a skin discount on a champion you don't own, the same discount will also be applied to the champ
  • Ultimate, Legendary, Limited, Loot-exclusive, and relatively new skins (released in the last 3 months) will not be featured in Your Shop

We've settled into our exciting new location in the updated client and will be open for business from 5/18/17 at 12:00 PT until 6/6/17 at 23:59 PT."

Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, the shop is perhaps a bit less available than advertised. It seems Riot got ahead of themselves, and the personalized shop wasn't, well, giving out personalized deals, which sort of defeated the purpose. Thus, the shop has been deactivated while Riot investigates the issue, but it should be returning any time now, as Riot technicians have proven optimistic about the issue.
