Several new League of Legends runes have been revealed that include new and old ideas for the tankiest of champions.

During this week’s Rune’s Corner announcement, the runes that were revealed by Riot Gregab all come from the Resolve path. Each of the three options take up the same slot, so while you won’t be able to bring all three of the runes into your matchups, one will be plenty to save your teammates, survive teamfights, or demolish turrets.
The Resolve rune path is all about brushing off damage while utilizing your tanky stats against enemies and objectives, and the three new runes are no exception. Called Perseverance, Demolish, and Font of Life, the runes look like they’ll be must-haves for top laners, junglers, and even some supports.
Perseverance

“After casting a Summoner Spell, gain 25% Tenacity and 25% Slow Resistance for 10 seconds. Increase your bonus Armor and Magic resist by 10% for each Summoner Spell on cooldown.”
The first of the runes that were revealed is Perseverance, a tool that connects champions’ stats with their Summoner Spells.
A rune that looks to be useful in any type of skirmish that requires the decisive use of a Summoner Spell, Perseverance lets players extend their Spell’s effects by gaining other stats. Using a Summoner Spell will grant a short buff, and even when they’re on cooldown, you’ll still have some protection. Sticking this rune on a champion like Sejuani or other junglers that can quickly proc theirย low-CD Smite in the jungle or against enemies with Enchantments and you’ve got a recipe for some solid ganks and healthier jungle clears.

Demolish
“Charge up a powerful attack against a tower over 4 seconds, while within 600 range of it. The charged attack deals 375 (+20% of your max health) bonus physical damage. Cooldown: 60 seconds”
If the name itself wasn’t enough of an indicator, this rune allows League’s heavyweights to put the smackdown on those pesky turrets.
By staying near a turret for a couple of seconds, players can unload a powerful attack that scales off of their health, a tool that gives health-stackers a quick burst of damage against structures.
ย
Font of Life
“Impairing the movement of an enemy champion marks them for 4 seconds. Ally champions who attack marked enemies heal for 5 + 1.0% of your max health. (Healing values are reduced to a third for your own attacks.)”
The final rune that was revealed during the Rune’s Corner post is the reimagining of Stoneborn’s Pact, now called Font of Life.
This Resolve rune takes the general idea of Stoneborn’s that allows allies to heal off of your CC and tweaks it slightly. Teammates who activate the heal for themselves now heal instantly instead of an over-time heal, and the rune wielders can now heal themselves instead of having their total health increased.
Are the New Runes a Good Fit For Tanks?
