Welcome one and all to the official WWG Nintendo Direct viewing party! You can't see us, but trust me: we're all here with drinks and snack foods hanging out and having a good time. I hope you'll kick back and join us for this special presentation highlighting ARMS and Splatoon 2! We've got the stream for you right here:

We don't know exactly what Nintendo has in store for us today, but there's a good chance that this Direct will spend a good amount of time introducing us to a few new ARMS fighters and explaining a new game mode. I can say with this with confidence because a few YouTubers have already broken embargo and released ARMS gameplay footage showing off three new characters and plenty of footage from a 2V2 duel mode.

We also know for a fact that Nintendo will be taking at least a minute or two out of today's Direct to share a brand new trailer for Splatoon 2. You'll remember that Splatoon 2 is launching just one month after ARMS, so we're about to hit marketing overdrive for the next few weeks. It's also interesting to note that the same internal team responsible with coming up with the Splatoon concept came up with the ARMS concept as well, so there are a lot of similarities between these two games. We're happy to see them promoted together.

As for the new ARMS characters, if you haven't seen them already, there are three that we know of. The leaked video showed off characters named "Byte & Barq," "Twintelle," and "Kid Cobra." Of these three Twintelle definitely looks like the most unique, as she doesn't fight with her arms at all; she uses her long hair as weapons instead! Byte & Barq have our favorite design, though, and Nintendo is proving once again that its artistic teams are world-class.

Make sure to stop by on Facebook or Twitter after the stream and let us know what you guys thought. What are you most excited about in ARMS, and what did you think of the new Splatoon 2 trailer? We'll be up for a while chatting about it, so be sure to join in.
