With Doomfist being the newest addition to Overwatch's roster, most of the recent talks about the game's characters have centered around the punch-happy hero. But the second-most recent character, Orisa, is still working on finding her spot in the Overwatch meta, and some future buffs for the hero might help her do just that.

The news of a potential buff coming for the mechanized tank came from Jeff Kaplan, the game director for Overwatch. Kaplan is a frequent visitor and contributor to the boards on Blizzard's site, and after an Orisa player posted a thread about the hero being in need of a "mega buff," Kaplan refuted that exact terminology but stated that she probably does need some kind of improvements.

"We don't think she needs a mega buff," Kaplan said in a response to the user's post. "We are experimenting with some minor improvements though. Apologies for no details - we're trying a few things right now and not all of them are going to stick. Overall, we feel like she's not far off but not quite in the ideal spot yet."

The initial poster cited a couple of reasons that they felt Orisa deserved a buff, one of the primary ones relating to her low damage output. As a tank, it's understandable to think that Orisa isn't going to be mowing down enemies like a Reaper or a Tracer can, but compared to other tanks in the game, Orisa's damage output does seem to be lacking. The hero offers plenty of utility, but not seeing a visible impact in the form of damage dealt can make the experience less rewarding for players, as the poster stated.

A second gripe dealt with Orisa's inability to escape from attackers if need be. Again, you wouldn't expect her to be as quick as others, but most of the remaining tanks at least have some way of getting out of tough situations, be it a Winston jump or a Roadhog ultimate.

While she's not in line for the mega buffs that some players call for, Orisa will likely be receiving some changes on the PTR soon enough.
