What's even better than those glorious chicken dinners? Doing a little good in the world with some good 'ol fashioned charity relations. The team behind the astoundingly popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) are giving back to the gaming community - 2 million dollars worth of giving back, to be exact.

With a confirmed number over over 30 million purchasing from the microtransaction cosmetics store in-game, and given that PUBG keeps smashing records, it's not surprising that the game is not hurting in the cash department. To give back a little, PUBG Corp announced that it is giving the impressive amount to several different gaming events this year, including the PUBG Extra Life campaign that helps raise money for children's hospitals!

For this team's Extra Life marathon, the PUBG crew are working hard to support the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The event will run from January 29th - Feb 2nd with the team donating 300,000 bucks to that cause. To match, the Gamers Outreach LAN party tournament will be playing for Gamers for Giving 2018, with PUBG looking to match any donation given during this time.

In addition, PUBG Corp has an additional one million that they are looking to spread the wealth a little bit throughout various charities throughout the year. It's always good to see developers that have seen success use that momentum to be a power of change in the community. It goes to show the power of the gaming microcosm that we're all a part of and it's good to see such a positive force for change be a result of gamers teaming up and doing their own part to make the world a better place.

This isn't the only time that the PUBG developing team made generous contributions. Just last year, they donated $100,000 to the Twitch PUB Winter Charity Invitational, they're starting 2018 very strong!

PlayUnknown's Battlegrounds is now available on PC out of Early Access, while still in the Preview Program for Xbox One users. No word yet on when it will be coming to the PlayStation 4, though talks continue to bring the battle royale game on all three major platforms.
