But the movie also contains some huge developments for a founding member of the Avengers and one of the cornerstone romances in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

SPOILER WARNING.

Seriously, don’t read on if you haven’t seen Spider-Man: Homecoming!

Gwyneth Palrow reprises her role as Pepper Potts in Spider-Man: Homecoming, making a surprising appearance alongside Tony Stark in the new Marvel movie.

At the end of the movie, Stark is holding a press conference to introduce Spider-Man as the next member of the Avengers. He even has a version of the Iron Spider suit as a welcoming gift.

But Parker turns him down so that he can continue with his studies and stay close to home as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. When he leaves, Pepper shows up and reminds Stark that he promised a huge announcement and cannot disappoint the crowd.

Then Happy Hogan pops in with an engagement ring for Stark to give to Pepper, telling him that he’s had it since 2008 (the year the first Iron Man movie came out). The two share a joke about whether or not Tony will actually propose, then go to the press conference.

It’s awesome to see Tony and Pepper resolve their issues, but it’s still slightly disappointing that some of the biggest events in their relationship were mentioned off-hand in other character’s movies, occurring off screen.
โ€จRegardless, we might be looking forward to a wedding in the future and more appearances from Paltrow in the MCU.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will hit theaters on July 7.
