While fans are still waiting for Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, the start of shooting on Black Panther and avengers: Infinity War means that Marvel Studios is now working on the back half of Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Sure, there’s still a way to go before we get to the end, but we’re already thinking about what kinds of movies we hope Marvel Studios makes in its fourth cinematic era.
Here are five movies we hope Marvel Studios makes in Phase Four.
Black Widow
Arguably the movie that Marvel fans have been crying out for the longest, if Marvel Studios is ever going to create a Black Widow movie then it should be in Phase 4.
Scarlett Johansson debuted as the Black Widow inย Iron Man 2, but she really came into her own int her own in the role inย The Avengers. Since then, fans have been begging Marvel to give Black Widow her own solo movie.
Johannson has become a top-tier action movie star through roles inย Lucyย and the upcomingย Ghost in the Shell. It’s time to let her take the spotlight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Thunderbolts
Didn’t get enough supervillains as protagonists in DC Films’ย Suicide Squad? Let’s let Marvel Studios have a shot at it.
In the Marvel Comics Universe, the Thunderbolts were conceived of as a long con by Baron Zemo and his Masters of Evil. When most of the Marvel Universe’s other heroes disappeared, Zemo and the Masters donned new, heroic personas – such as Zemo’s Citizen V – in order to gain power and favor. Zemo planned to use that power to his own personal gain, but his compatriots found they enjoyed playing hero.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of this story, afterย Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers disappear. Zemo is then tapped to put together a team of heroes to replace the Avengers. What comes next is anyone’s guess.

Nova
Thoughย Guardians of the Galaxy, the Marvel Cinematic Univers has already laid down the framework for a Nova movie.
The Nova Corps is essentially a group of space cops, not unlike the Green Lantern Corps of the DC Comics Universe.
Aย Nova movie would focus on one specific Nova, likely Richard Rider but also possibly Sam Alexander.
In the case of Rider, we’d expect a movie to take inspiration from theย Annihilationย event and pit Nova against a dauntless cosmic army set to conquer or destroy everything in its path.
A Sam Alexander movie would likely be more about a young person coming to terms with great cosmic power and the legacy of his father.

Captain America: Legacy
In modern Marvel Comics, the legacy of Captain America has been as important as the character itself.
When Steve Rogers was seemingly killed at the end ofย Civil War, Bucky Barnes, the reformed Winter Soldier, took up his mentor’s shield to become the new Captain America.
More recently, when Rogers lost the super-soldier serum that gave him his youth, he passed the mantle of Captain America on to his old partner, the Falcon.
Both of these characters have already debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and both have a considerable fanbase. If Captain America perishes inย Infinity War as some suspect, the next question Marvel should ask is, “Who will wield the shield?”

Young Avengers
20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies franchise is about to dive into the young adult movie waters withย The New Mutants, but why should they have all of the fun?
This is another premise that works best if the Avengers are dissolved afterย Avengers: Infinity War, which there’s no guarantee of. Either way, the idea is that several young people who look up to the Avengers decide to take superhero responsibilities into their own hands
Young Avengers has been a title that has seen a lot of great new character in the Marvel Universe, including Kate Bishop, Miss America, Wiccan, and Hulkling. The Vision was also a member of the team for a time, opening up an opportunity for one of the original Avengers to appear in another film.
