Doctor Strange & Spider-Man Become Good Friends In Avengers: Infinity War

When Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters next year, it promises to bring much of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's heroes together. And while many of the various dynamics between the film's wide cast of characters are still a mystery, one is already being teased by the cast and crew - Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

According to the duo, in an interview with Good Morning America, the dynamic came about rather naturally, partially in thanks to the shared hometowns of both themselves and their characters.

"We're good friends." Holland explained. "We're the Londoners and the New Yorkers."

Infinity War co-director Joe Russo echoed this, saying that the pair have a surprising amount in common, aside from geographical locations.

"They both have a proximity to each other, if that's a hint that I can give." Russo explained. "Anybody who's a Marvel fan would know that they both reside in the same city, and I think Tom and Benedict have a really wonderful chemistry and we wanted to exploit that."

Fans have already gotten an inkling of Holland and Cumberbatch's rapport, with Cumberbatch hilariously preventing his young costar from sharing spoilers. Here's hoping we see more of their dynamic in future installments when Avengers: Infinity War debuts next May.
