You might think that Star Wars fans are the most intense in the entire nerd community. However, according to one actress who has been a part of multiple franchises, that's simply not the case.

Lupita Nyong'o, who plays Maz Kanata in the Star Wars films, is now starring in the Black Panther solo film, and she says that the Marvel fans have turned things up a notch in terms of their rabid fandom. Could the hype for Marvel films have become even more intense than that of the Star Wars franchise?

During a visit to the Black Panther set in Atlanta, ComicBook.com had a chance to listen to Nyong'o speak about the film. When the topic of fan intensity came up, she didn't hesitate to celebrate the excitable nature of the Marvel faithful.

"You'd have to be blind not to see," Nyong'o said of the way fans have reacted to Black Panther, specifically when the #BlackPantherSoLit hashtag began trending on Twitter. "Yeah it was intense, Black Panther So Lit, and it continues to be so with every announcement of who's joined the cast and everything. It's been a lot of pressure on us."

Nyong'o was then asked whether Star Wars or Black Panther provided a more intense experience, and she didn't hesitate. "This," she said.
