Deadpool Director Reveals Deleted Scene That He Hated To Cut

Deadpool wasn't lacking in any real way, but according to Director Tim Miller, there was something missing from the final cut.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, the director references the one scene he wishes would've made the theatrical release.

"There's a scene, in the script it was called 'The Cancer World Tour,' where Wade and Vanessa went around the world to try and find a cure to his cancer. They end the Cancer World Tour having lost hope in this really creepy, shyster clinic in Guadalajara, and this doctor is clearly a quack. And Wade kills him. And it's this really emotional scene, and Vanessa witnesses it, and it's the first time he's really let the monster out, and she sees who he is. And he runs away from her because he's so ashamed. And it was a really great scene, and Ryan fucking crushed it. He just crushed it. He was so good, but it just didn't work with the pacing of the movie so we cut it. It's a really great scene."

Scenes like this are why Directors Cuts exist. The scene took place after Wade's diagnosis and before his time with Ajax. While any excuse to see Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin on screen together is a good one, as their chemistry was fantastic, I understand them wanting to preserve the pace. The scene will be available on the Blu-ray edition of the film, which releases on May 10th.
