Production on Guardians of the Galaxy has officially wrapped, according to director James Gunn. Gunn is currently headed to Singapore to begin the press tour for the film.

Gunn says he is immensely proud of the work done on Guardians of the Galaxy, as shared in a statement on his Facebook page.

Well, other than finalizing the 3D, I'm officially wrapped on Guardians of the Galaxy and on my way to the airport to fly to Singapore to begin the press wing of this journey. I saw some amazing VFX shots today to wraps things up. I couldn't be feeling more gratitude and love for all the people who have helped create this film. However the audiences take it, there's not a single dishonest or impure bone in Guardians' cinematic body - and that's a hell of a thing for a spectacle film of this size with so many people involved. Best experience of my life. Thank you all.

In Guardians of the Galaxy, after stealing a mysterious orb, American pilot/outlaw hero Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is hunted down and thrown into an inter-galactic prison. In order to secure his freedom, Quill reluctantly joins forces with alien bandits Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) to form an alliance of misfits known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, and with the all-powerful villain Ronan (Lee Pace) hunting the orb, the fate of the universe is in their hands.

Guardians of the Galaxy comes to theaters August 1.
