Spoilers incoming for Thanos #11, so if you haven’t read the issue yet you’ve been warned.

Thanos has attempted to find any way available to reclaim his power, and last issue Thanos finally managed to do it, at least to a small degree. Thanos entered the God Quarry, the ancient burial place of gods. In doing so he managed to take possession of enough power to put up a fight against his son, Thane. The problem? Thane has the power of the Phoenix at his command, so it is still not exactly in Thanos’ favor.

No one told Thanos that though, and he certainly has enough power to throw down with his son. The two deliver punches that shake the very ground they stand on, but the words Thanos unleashes probably do more damage. Thanos says “I should have sought you out long ago, Thane. I should have found you when you were still in the womb and ripped you out with my very hands!”

So yeah, these two aren’t exactly going to the father-son picnic.

Thane unleashes a punch in return that sends Thanos literally into space, and charges after his father. After unloading a few more punches, Thanos retaliates in epic fashion. Thanos punches Thane so hard he goes soaring back towards the planet but doesn’t actually stop when he hits the surface. Thane continues traveling through the planet, and Thanos spears him through to the other side.

Yep, Thanos punched his son through a planet, and if that doesn’t say I love you, well, what does?

To his credit, Thane isn’t done yet and charges at Thanos, ultimately flying his father to the end of the universe. Not exactly a planet, but still pretty impressive.
