Earlier this fall, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were stunned to learn that Sigourney Weaver was joining the franchise. The actress showed up at New York Comic Con to confirm her role in Netflix's The Defenders, but little information about her involvement has come from the actress since then. Fans are eager to learn more about Weaver's villainous role in the miniseries special, and now they are getting a bit of new information from the starlet herself.

In a recent interview with Variety, Weaver sat down to talk about projects like Avatar and The Defenders. When she was asked about her work on the latter, Weaver said she couldn't say much except that her character is "delicious."

"I can't say much, because they might kill me. I think everyone I work for might kill me if I tell you anything," she said. "But I have the most delicious character. She's really smart, and she's very in charge."

So far, there's no word on who Weaver has been cast as. Fans only know that she will play a villain who the Defenders team up against. If Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Daredevil has to team up to stop her, then she's definitely got to have a mean streak.

Earlier this year, Charlie Cox shared his reaction to Weaver's casting with fans. "You know, when she came on stage with us at New York Comic Con, I wanted to say, 'In Hell's Kitchen, no one hears you scream.' I don't think it gets better than Sigourney Weaver," he told the San Antonio Current.

"I think we are immensely lucky to have her. It's a testament to shows like Daredevil and Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. The quality of those shows have drawn someone of her caliber, which is very exciting for us. I can't wait to read it and have a scene with her. It's one of the experiences I'll probably remember for the rest of my career."

With Weaver attached to the project, it looks like the casting for The Defenders is bursting as the seams. A slew of characters from Netflix's solo series are set to star in the special crossover. Figures like Karen Page, Misty Knight, Foggy Nelson, Pat Walker, Stick, and Claire Temple will all take part in the series, so fans can expect them to encounter Weaver's character in one way or another.

Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, and Luke Cage season 1 are all available on Netflix. Iron Fist will premiere on March 17, 2017. The Defenders expected later in the year. The Punisher does not have a release date yet.
