is reporting that Lionsgate has acquired the rights to The Breach, with David Goyer, writer of the Batman Begins trilogy and Man of Steel, attached to direct. The film will be written by Justin Rhodes. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of the Transformers films, will produce with Nellie Reeves of Phantom 4 (Goyer's production house) serving as co-producer. The film is an adaptation of Patrick Lee's novel of the same name. It's the first in a trilogy, followed by Ghost Country and Deep Sky. The sci-fi/thriller follows an ex-cop, Travis Chase, who is attempting to stop an artifact, controlled by a secret organization called the Tangent, from destroying the world. The Breach will be the first film that Goyer has directed since 2009's The Unborn. He is currently writing the pilot for NBC's upcoming Constantine pilot.
