Next week, according to Back to the Future Part II, Marty McFly will arrive in our time via a flying DeLorean Doc Brown converted into a time machine in 1985.

And if the circumstances were right, actor Christopher Lloyd says he wouldn't rule out returning as Doc Brown for a fourth installment of the beloved time-travel comedy franchise.

"I would love to do Doc again, no question," Lloyd told The Hollywood Reporter, cautioning, "It's tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three, so it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back to the Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three. But it could be done, you never know."

In addition to three feature films, Lloyd has played Dr. Emmet Brown in a Universal Studios ride or two, video games and more. Today, he and co-star Michael J. Fox came together for a Toyota commercial, and last year he appeared in A Million Ways to Die in the West, also in a cameo as Doc Brown.

A thirtieth anniversary special edition of the Back to the Future trilogy and supplemental material like a making-of documentary and the short-lived animated series based on the films is due in stores next week.
