Another reveal from the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight has hit Twitter, and it features the debut of the stylish and hot headed Hot Rod.
The account tweeted a new picture with the caption “Hot Rod: This is no cartoon. #transformers”. His core frame is metallic gray, with some of the bigger plates on his armor featuring a glossy black coating. The trim is all outlined in a sienna reddish color, including the majority of his face.

Hot Rod’s bio also holds a few pieces of new information. Hot Rod is listed as “Bumblebee’s brother-in-arms, and his personality is described as “brash, slightly arrogant, protector.”
Hot Rod’s presence lends credence to the theory that Unicron will play a role in the upcoming film. More and more it seems that Michael Bay will indeed be putting his own unique spin on the original Transformers Animated Film. So far we have Galvatron’s transformation back into Megatron, something that Unicron could accomplish, as well as the introduction of Sqweeks, who appears to be a Junkion. Now we have Hot Rod, who in the original film ends up becoming Rodimus Prime due to Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus both meeting their end.
Of course, Dragons have also been teased, so take all that with a grain of salt.
Still, it would certainly be a great way to end Bay’s run on the franchise, as this is rumored to be his last film in the series, at least for awhile. You can view the entire image of Hot Rod in the gallery.
Transformers: The Last Knight hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
