Wanda Maximoffโthe Scarlet Witchโstands as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful beings, her abilities evolving from basic telekinesis and energy manipulation to near-omnipotent reality-warping and chaos magic. Her journey has been marked by moments of incredible power that are tragically usually driven by intense emotion and grief. These displays of raw, unbridled magic and power have altered multiple realities, bested some of the most powerful beings, and demonstrated a mastery of magic no other magician or witch in the MCU could ever equal.ย

From challenging Thanos to rewriting the fabric of existence, these 7 moments prove why Wanda is a force unto herself, feared as much as she is respected. Her power level is essentially limitless, making her a truly dangerous and impressive figure.
7. Ripping Ultronโs Heart Out

In her first feature film appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda confronts Ultron in Sokovia after the killer robot was practically destroyed. In her terrible grief over the death of her twin, she uses her telepathic and telekinetic abilities to breach Ultronโs vibranium shell and his programming to rip out his robotic heart.
This was one of her first truly lethal displays of power. She didn’t even fight him, as she didnโt have to. Instead, she reached inside his very core and ripped out his central processing unitโthe metaphorical “heart”โshowing a focused and destructive power that foreshadowed her untapped potential.
6. Destroying an Infinity Stone

As Thanos tears his way through Wakanda in his mission to seize the Mind Stone from Vision, Wanda uses her power to simultaneously hold off the Mad Titan and destroy the Stone embedded in Vision’s head. As Wandaโs powers were essentially activated by the Mind Stone years earlier, she was the only person with the powers to destroy the very same stone, though at the price of Visionโs life.
The power required to destroy an Infinity Stoneโone of the six forces that formed the universeโis astronomical. A being as powerful as Thanos needed the complete Gauntlet to manage the Stones, and even that caused him great injury. Wanda not only shattered the Stone, but was able to do so while holding off a celestial monster, putting her on a different level than any of the other Avengers.
5. Creating the Twins

Driven by her sorrow after losing Vision in Avengers: Infinity War and the tragic events of Avengers: Endgame, Wanda used her chaos magic to create sentient life in the form of her twin sons, Tommy and Billy, within the Westview hex. She essentially created two complex human lives, complete with consciousness and developing powers, without even knowing she was doing it.
The sheer scale of this creation is a reality-warping feat that not even the strongest magicians or witches in the MCU could do. It was not a mere illusion but an actual manifestation of life and substance, maintained solely by her magic. This act rewrote the rules of biology and existence, as the events of Agatha All Along confirmed that both boys had very real souls.
4. Bringing Down Mount Wundergore

Wanda, after being corrupted by the influence of the Darkhold as the fully realized Scarlet Witch, confronts the Masters of the Mystic Arts and uses her power to collapse Mount Wundergore onto both the ancient structure it housed and herself. This was the fortress of the Darkhold, and she destroyed it to prevent anyone from using the book’s corrupting magic again, in any and every timeline.
To do this, Wanda had to use her magic to manipulate an entire mountainโtons of earth and rockโand bring it down in a catastrophic landslide. It was a quite literal earth-shattering display of her unlimited chaos magic that not only destroyed a stronghold, but showed that she really was a hero, destroying the source of her corruption and ensuring no one else fell victim to the Darkhold.
3. Dream Walking

Wanda masters the forbidden magic of Dream Walkingโprojecting her consciousness into the body of an alternate-universe version of herself. While highly unethical and considered a violation of the very essence of reality to Doctor Strange, the ability allowed her to possess and fully control the other Wanda’s physical form across the multiverse to find her sons.
By mastering Dream Walking, Wanda essentially wielded power over the multiverse itself. She turned a variant of herself into a puppet, completely bypassing the normal physical barriers between realities. This mastery of dark magic is something that even Agatha Harkness, the previous owner of the Darkhold, could not manage.
2. Creating Westview

Wanda’s grief after all of the loss she suffered physically manifested as an enormous burst of her chaos magic and an act of creation, establishing an entire, fully functional pseudo-reality within the town of Westview. She completely rebuilt the environment, controlled citizens, and gave them โrolesโ within her reality, and sustained it all while barely realizing it.
The Westview Hex was the first time audiences saw the full scope of Wandaโs power, as she was able to rewrite the laws of physics, time, and consciousness for hundreds of people and an entire town; an involuntary display of the chaos magic she did not know she held inside.
1) Single-Handedly Destroying the Illuminatiย

The single most deadly, efficient, and terrifying display of her power was the ruthless confrontation with the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Magic. In mere minutes, she dispatched an alternate universeโs most powerful heroesโCaptain Marvel (Monica Rambeau), Black Bolt, Professor X (Charles Xavier), Captain Carter (Peggy Carter), and Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards)โwith brutal precision.
This massacre of multiversal heavyweights solidified her status as an Omega-level threat, even if that terminiology has not been mentioned yet in the MCU. She instantly neutralized Black Bolt by removing his mouth, shredded Reed Richards, and bisected Captain Carter with her own shield. This display of power, combining telepathy, reality manipulation, Dream Walking, and raw chaos magic, stands out as Wandaโs most impressive (and terrifying) act.
