Fast and the Furious and Guardians of the Galaxy star Vin Diesel is in talks to play Valiant Comics' gun-toting super-soldier in Sony's upcoming Bloodshot, upsetting fans of Power Rangers vet Jason David Frank.
Frank, who plays Bloodshot in upcoming web series Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe, shared a new image of himself as the character on January 5.
"My boy @jdfffn is Bloodshot already," one fan wrote on Twitter, tagging Frank's Twitter handle.
"There's already a live action Bloodshot," wrote another. "His name is @jdfffn."
Other users weighed in with the same sentiment. "Jason David Frank is Bloodshot," wrote one.

"If Jason David Frank kills it in that Ninjak web series, no one is going to want Vin as Bloodshot," said one commentor.

"Could work, but honestly even for Vin Diesel, [it] will be really hard [to] make a character after @jdfffn gave him life," wrote one fan.

Bloodshot re-teams Diesel with Fast and Furious producing veteran Neal Moritz and the R-rated take is said to be ultra-violent. Director Dave Wilson says the film will be "tonally and aesthetically influenced" by violent '80s classics The Terminator and Robocop.
Sony is targeting a 2019 release.
