Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have released a handful of clips from their upcoming animated film The Secret Life of Pets, which will open in theaters next month.

In the first clip, Max, a Jack Russell Terrier, complains to Chloe, an obese tabby cat, about the new dog (a big, sloppy mutt named Duke) his owner, Katie, brought home from the pound. When Duke accidentally knocks over a vase, causing a bit of a mess, Max sees an opportunity to get rid of the new dog by framing it for an even bigger mess. Max and Duke try to get on the good-side of Snowball, a white rabbit and the leader of the “Flushed Pets” gang, by claiming that they are anti-humans and even killed their owner. The fourth clip has an over-excited Snowball dropping pellets. In the fifth and final clip, Gidget, a white Pomeranian, interrogates Ozone, a Sphynx cat.

For their fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present The Secret Life of Pets, a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debuts in The Secret Life of Pets, which co-stars Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan and Albert Brooks. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produce the film directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2), co-directed by Yarrow Cheney and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch.

The Secret Life of Pets will scratch and claw its way into theaters July 8, 2016.
