In a new interview posted to YouTube, Marvel's The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg told an interviewer that while his character was dead, it's still quite possible the Avengers were "deceived" during last summer's blockbuster. "It was hard to miss the moment where that Asgardian bastard stabs me quite thoroughly," Gregg said, adding "I was a little heartbroken." And while he was told that his character was quite definitely dead, he added, "it's the comics, so, you know, that's a different form of dead." He added, "We never saw the body. The cards were in the locker. There was a lot of people talking about the Blu-ray, the English Blu-ray, you didn't see the spear come through Coulson." And, confirming what many fans have suspected since the movie debuted, he said, "It would be surprising to me if this was a world where there wasn't some reckoning for the fact that it'd be…you know, some level of deception must have been perpetrated on the Avengers."
