The Winter Soldier

At a press conference in England to promote Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Sebastian Stan, who plays James "Bucky" Barnes, was asked if he thinks his character could take over as Captain America in a future film. "I have no idea man," said Stan. "I really don't know, I'm still trying to realize that I'm sitting up here with these guys. Where [directors Joe and Anthony Russo] want to take the story is where I'm going." The question comes from the news that Stan has a nine picture deal with Marvel Studios, which is three pictures long than current Captain America, Chris Evans. On top of that, in the Ed Brubaker written Captain America comic book series that originally brought Bucky back from the dead as The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers does indeed die and Bucky does take up the shield to become the new Captain America. Will the Captain America films continue to follow the story laid out by Brubaker? We'll have to wait and see. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier,  Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier. Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes to theaters April 4.
