Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, has chosen the actors that will play the grown-up versions of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley!

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint you can now exit stage left. "Harry will be played by 36-year-old Jamie Parker, an original member of Alan Bennett's History Boys cast at the National Theatre, while Paul Thornley has been cast as Ron Weasley," reports Baz Bamigboye of The Daily Mail. "Ron, his hair now receding, is married to Hermione – a part won by Noma Dumezweni, 45, who was born in Swaziland to South African parents fleeing apartheid. She moved with her mother and sister to Suffolk when she was seven."

Due to the epic nature of the story the powers that be chose to break up the play into two-parts. Audiences will have the option of seeing both parts "at a matinee and evening performance" on the same day or on "two consecutive evenings each week."

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens at London's West End in late May.
