Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt has been tapped by 20th Century Fox to direct the Gambit movie.
Gambit will star Channing Tatum as the X-Men's Cajun charmer, Remy LeBeau. The film will tell Gambit's origin story as a thief before joining up with the X-Men.
The film is being produced by Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Schuler Donner, and Simon Kinberg.
Gambit opens October 7, 2016.
