director Colin Trevorrow has revealed that Universal Pictures has plans to develop more films in the Jurassic Park franchise following Jurassic World. "We definitely talked about [sequels] a lot," Trevorrow told Empire Magazine. "We wanted to create something that would be a little bit less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story." Trevorrow hinted that certain characters in Jurassic World were already planned to return in the sequels, including the character played by Omar Sy. "He's essentially Chris Pratt's best friend," Trevorrow said. "They work together and have some pretty cool action scenes together. I wanted to create a relationship there that could be memorable and potentially carry on to future films." Plot details for Jurassic World are scarce, but the film will return to Isla Nublar, the site of the original film's dinosaur theme park, 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park. Jurassic World is currently filming and will arrive in theaters June 12, 2015.
