Hundreds of comic book characters are being portrayed in film and television, and with each new day more are being announced.

Major Issues -- a ComicBook.com original video series -- will speak to true comic book hobbyists as well as new fans in a short, fast-paced digital series featuring the first appearances of characters we all love. Each episode will feature the actual comic book, info on the creators, and the backstory on the creation and legacy of the character.

The first is our look at the introduction of the Robby Reyes' Ghost Rider.

The description of the flaming skulled, hot rod rider from Marvel.com: Robbie is a high-school student working as a mechanic at an auto body shop who lives with his developmentally disabled brother Gabe and seeks to get away from the dangerous, gang-riddled streets of East Los Angeles. To that end, he enters a street race, hoping to use the prize money to move themselves away. When mercenaries gun him down while trying to retrieve pills that caused the transformation of Calvin Zabo into the supervillain Mr. Hyde, which had been left in the trunk unbeknownst to Robbie, the teen is revived as a demonic being with a flaming, helmet-like head. He drives off in the car, now similarly ablaze.

Origininally published in March of 2014 -- and priced at $3.99 -- the origin story was titled, "All New Ghost Rider No. 1, Engines of Vengeance." It is now available for bid on eBay (in varying conditions) with varying price ranges based on the variant covers.
