It was announced today, through an interview with the creators at Comic Book Resources, that Mark Waid and Mark Bagley will be helming a new Hulk series - simply titled "Hulk" - as part of the All-New Marvel NOW! initiative. The new series will follow Mark Waid's current Hulk title, Indestructible Hulk, which will be ending with issue #20. The new series will pick up merely hours after the final events of Indestructible Hulk. Where the current series has been something different for Hulk and his human host, Bruce Banner - the two working in tandem with S.H.I.E.L.D., creating a mission-based story structure - the new Hulk series will be a return to a more traditional setup, with the Hulk once again living in isolation, and wandering from place to place. Waid had this to say about the new series' debut story arc:

Banner really, really has to decide once and for all what he wants, how he wants to get it, what he's willing to sacrifice, and why he wants to follow his career path. And the answers will really shock you. They shocked us.

For his part, Bagley is hoping for a chance to draw some classic Hulk throw-downs, such as Hulk vs. The Thing and Hulk vs. the Abomination. The new Hulk series seems to be in line with All-New Marvel NOW!'s theme of relaunching a series with a new #1 issue and a slightly altered direction, but keeping the creative team mostly in tact. Mark Waid's own Daredevil series, for example, was "cancelled" only to have Marvel announce a new Daredevil #1 will be coming in March with Waid and artist Chris Samnee still on board as the creative team. Indestructible Hulk will wrap up in issue #20, available March 26, 2014. Hulk #1 will follow sometime in April.
