Drew Karpyshyn - writer of the first two Mass Effect games, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Star Wars: The Old Republic – has returned to BioWare.

Karpyshn originally left BioWare to focus on his trilogy of fantasy novels, titled Chaos Reborn, and announced his return just ahead of the series' final installment, Chaos Unleashed.

"Working at BioWare was a challenging but very rewarding job, and it's good to be back as part of the team," Karpyshn wrote on his blog. "The thing I missed most about BioWare was the amazing people I got to work with, and luckily for me many of them are still there!

Karpyshn will return to work on The Old Republic MMORPG.

"I suspect a lot of folks are going to wonder if this means BioWare is about to announce a new project tied to my return," he wrote. "The short answer: no. I originally came to the Austin studio many years ago to work on SWTOR and – at least for now – that's what I'm focusing on again."

If you want to ask Karpyshn a question about his return to BioWare, you can catch him during his Ask Me Anything session on the Reddit's r/fantasy subreddit.
