Minecraft: Story Mode Announced By Telltale Games And Mojang

Mojang and Telltale Game have announced Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series, a new episodic video game series inspired by Mojang's incredibly popular Minecraft video game. The announcement was made through a short, retro-style adventure game called Info Quest II on Mojang's website.

The game will be done in the same style as Telltale's other episodic adventure games, such as Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us,and their games based on The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. The game will be narratively driven, and released in an episodic format.

Mojang is collaborating with Telltale to make Minecraft: Story Mode as "Minecrafty" as possible, but the game will not provide an official story for Steve or an official explanation for the world of Minecraft. Rather, the press release simply says "It will be a cool game."

The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode will be released sometime in 2015, and will be available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.
