The summer of Valiant is back, and its newest iteration is kicking off July 10th with the release of Quantum & Woody #1 from the publisher. Recently, a number of new Valiant titles were announced in the back of the company's Free Comic Book Day one-shot, so it's arguably not unlikely that the teaser image at right, which lets fans know that "The world's worst superhero team gets off to a bad start on July 10th," will be just the first in a series of similar teasers featuring characters like The Eternal Warrior, Ninjak and H.A.R.D. Corps. Maybe even Unity, although that one is teased for later in the year and likely won't be part of the Summer of Valiant. "It's a punchy, character-centric action comedy. The real heart of the story is the relationship between the guys - brothers from other mothers - who always manage to rub each other the wrong way, but now literally can't survive without each other. There was a surprising heart to the original, especially in Eric (Quantum) and Woody's relationship. It was complicated, and it felt real - while also being incredibly fertile ground for delightful chaos," Quantum & Woody writer James Asmus told ComicVine. "Everything - the story, the humor, the action - it all comes from the characters, not just some idea for spectacle or a fight scene. But it's also a hell of a lot of fun."
