Spoiler Warning: Viewers have been discussing the surprise twist at the conclusion of the latest episode of Gotham and for good reason.

At the end of Monday's episode, it was revealed that Oswald Cobblepot has been secretly working with crime lord Falcone not only to dismantle rival mob boss Maroni but to sabotage Fish Mooney's plans to seize control of Falcone's empire.

In a recent interview with E! Online, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Robin Lord Taylor shared their thoughts on their respective characters and teased where they believe their arcs are headed.

Taylor says he remembers his reaction when he first learned about the twist.

"I threw the script on the ground and said 'No Way!'" he said. "It was an amazing reveal. It made a lot of things make more sense for the character and for me playing the character. When we're about to shoot something I get the script a couple of days before so I'm just in the dark like everybody else."

Pinkett-Smith believes her character may momentarily be at a disadvantage.

"Fish Mooney is strategic but I think what most unfortunate right now is that Fish doesn't understand the game that she's playing," Pinkett-Smith explained. "I think she doesn't understand how ruthless and calculating Oswald is. Once she realizes that, it'll be interesting to see how she matches it because I think that Fish can. I just don't think she understands that is the realm that she is in. So she's a little behind the 8-ball right now."

Gotham airs Mondays at 8 p.m. E.S.T. on Fox.
