The 50th anniversary of Star Trek is upon us in July 2016, with a year of celebrations including a new film, a new TV series, a new convention, and more. CBS Consumer Products announced Wednesday that a series of "Trek Talks" will see the franchise explored in new and exiting ways all across the globe.

The Trek Talks will include scientists, teachers, and pop-culture guests from NASA, the Intrepid Museum, EMP Museum, Canadian Space Agency, and more, making stops at colleges, conventions like San Diego Comic-Con and Star Trek: Mission New York, plus museums and non-profit locations.

"From technological advancements to racial and economic equality, Star Trek has broached a broad and varied range of subjects over the years," said Liz Kalodner, EVP and GM of CBS Consumer Products in a press release. "These Trek Talks will address its impact and provide an entertaining and educational forum to discuss such influence."
