Republicans and Faux News are going to have a field day with this.

President Obama concluded today's White House press conference by informing those in attendance that he had to rush off to go see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Once he departed, his press secretary Josh Earnest took to the podium to answer questions. He was accompanied by two of The First Order's stormtroopers.

Oh no! Has the Obama administration turned to the dark side of the force? No, it hasn't. The lovable droid, R2-D2, was there as well, though, his short stature makes him hard to see.

Check it out in the video below.

In this continuation of the Star Wars saga, balance returns to the Force as the First Order, emerging from the ashes of the Empire, clashes with the Resistance, which includes scrappy newcomers as well as heroes from the former Rebel Alliance.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in U.S. theaters on December 18.
