This March, Bea Whaley continues her dreamtime adventures in the 18th century in The Dreamer Volume 3: The Battle of Harlem Heights, from Lora Innes and IDW Publishing. The Dreamer is the tale of 17-year-old Beatrice "Bea" Whaley, a student who begins having vivid dreams about a brave and handsome soldier named Alan Warren... a member of an elite group known as Knowlton's Rangers that fought during the Revolutionary War. Prone to keeping her head in the clouds, Bea welcomes her nightly adventures in 1776; filled with danger and romance they give her much to muse about the next day. But it is not long before Beatrice questions whether her dreams are simply dreams or something more... In Volume 3, Bea Whaley's family is becoming increasingly concerned by her odd behavior, but she can't tell them about her dreams. She has to find her way back to the age of the American Revolution, where here friends' lives are in danger and she doesn't know if she'll be there in time to save them. "You don't need to be a history buff or comic book fan to love my book, The Dreamer," say creator Lora Innes. "The reason the book resonates with readers is it's filled with romance, action and adventure that anyone can relate to. The fact that much of this actually happened is only backdrop to the story, but it makes it much richer." The Dreamer has been nominated for several Harvey Awards. Volumes 1 and 2 are still available in print and digital formats. Volume 3 will conclude The Consequence of Nathan Hale storyline, but The Dreamer is planned to continue with Volume 4 in 2016. The Dreamer Volume 3: The Battle of Harlem Heights will be released into bookstores and the direct market in March 2014.
