Along with the first-look footage that debuted earlier tonight during Arrow, The CW have released their official synopsis for their upcoming TV series based on The Flash. The show will be scheduled officially at tomorrow's CW upfront presentation, so keep your eyes on ComicBook.com to see whether they'll pair it with Arrow, their other DC Comics adaptation of which it's a spinoff. Of course, the network will also be scheduling iZombie, their Vertigo adaptation from creators Chris Roberson and Mike Allred and showrunner Rob Thomas. Check out the official synopsis below. The Flash kicks off this fall and stars Glee's Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash. Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) will be the S.T.A.R. scientists closest to him, and they have already appeared on Arrow as well. After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.
