The second half of Arrow's third season is upon us, and boy oh boy are there a lot of plot threads dangling.

You just know things are going to get more complicated, not less, but even if they didn't, most shows could pad out the rest of the season and then some with just the handful of irons Arrow already has in the fire.

So, which ones are we the most excited to see explored in 2015? Read on...

The A.T.O.M.

It sure seems like we're pointed that way, with Ray Palmer trying out some kind of gauntlet in the extended teaser released the other day.

The most interesting element of A.T.O.M. is just what kind of character he'll be. Showrunners have said that he won't shrink on the show, but then also indicated that we'll see him in costume doing something cool sooner than later.

And there was that passing reference to the white dwarf star material. So...do we believe that he won't shrink?!

A believable arc for Laurel

We know we're getting her "origin story." Now, we have to buy it.

Oliver had five years. Sara had the League of Assassins. Diggle is Special Forces. Roy has Oliver, and still manages to make mistakes as often as not (he got his butt handed to him by Cupid, if you remember). So far, Laurel has made nothing but mistakes, and that doesn't inspire confidence for suddenly being Black Canary.

I'm one of those who actually likes Laurel -- or at least I like what she can be in her better moments. Let's try and develop that and make it believable that this person can become part of Team Arrow.

Connor

Katana almost took this spot, but really...Connor Hawke is more significant to Oliver in the long term.

During the crossover with The Flash, we saw that there is indeed an heir to Oliver's current lack-of-a-fortune out there, and while Oliver doesn't know, we're hoping that bumping into the mother means she'll feel guilty and tell him.

Sara

We miss her. Hoping her flashback episode leaves the door open to explore her character a bit more in the future.

How are they going to get out of the Oliver death?

Yes, we know there's almost certainly a Lazarus Pit coming...but let's not gloss over the fact that they killed off their title character during the midseason finale. That's something that requires a good deal of workaround.

It'll be great to see how the characters react, what it means for Merlyn's master plan, etc....But we're looking forward to that moment when they get right down to things and Oliver's return is explained.
