Iron Man 3 Subway

In a famous scene from The Avengers. Tony Stark quipped, "Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I want to try it." Then, after the credits rolled, the entire Avengers team was shown enjoying a shawarma meal. With Avengers becoming the biggest blockbuster movie of 2012, shawarma sales reportedly started rising because of the free plug in The Avengers. With Iron Man 3, it looks like Disney figured out what an impact superhero movies can have on food sales, and this time it appears they have a better plan to capitalize on that impact. In a Iron Man 3 scene shown to the press early, Tony Stark crash lands in Tennessee and tells a kid named Harley that he needs some things to repair his armor. Tony Stark says, "I'm going to need a laptop, a digital watch, a cell phone, some kind of metal spring, and one large tuna fish sandwich." Later, in a particularly funny scene, Tony Stark tells Harley, "You know what keeps going through my head? Where's my sandwich?" It's a similar set-up and punch line involving food as played out in The Avengers, but this time Disney has signed a marketing deal with Subway to capitalize on the line. There's a new Subway commercial which takes the Tony Stark "Where's my sandwich?" dialogue and plays it over a different scene of Tony Stark laying flat on his back in damaged Iron Man armor. The commercial then provides the answer with an advertisement for Subways' Smokehouse BBQ Chicken sandwich.
