X-Men Star Janssen's New Show Debuts on Netflix Today

, the new Netflix original series starring Famke Janssen of X-Men and The Wolverine fame, debuted today on the streaming service. Based on a best-selling novel and brought to the screen by Hostel's Eli Roth, the series has drawn strong reviews and, almost inevitably, comparisons to David Lynch and Mark Frost's '90s TV classic Twin Peaks.

In the shadows of a rusted Pennsylvania steel town, the mangled body of a teenage girl is discovered. As they hunt for a monster among them, rumors mount and many of the eccentric residents become suspects, from the newly arrived gypsy family to the wealthy Godfrey clan. In the twisted world of Hemlock Grove, everyone hides a dark secret. From director Eli Roth ("Hostel") comes a chilling supernatural series based on Brian McGreevy's novel.

Janssen appears in all thirteen season one episodes as Olivia Godfrey, the self-appointed "queen" of Hemlock Grove and mother to one of the suspects who brings her own mystery and baggage into the story.
