It's officially December, and that means it's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story release month. Hitting theaters in just two weeks, the film is getting a major PR push, and anticipation for the film is at a fever pitch. That means everyone is getting in on the action and excitement, and that includes other folks throughout Hollywood, not just your average fans. Now that Joss Whedon is back on twitter, that includes the writer/director.

In a tweet, Whedon gave his memed-up tag line for Rogue One, which stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso: "I'm with her." The tagline, previously used as the presidential campaign slogan for Hillary Clinton, certainly works for Jyn as well. In fact, we've even seen in trailers and TV spots characters specifically using the language, "I'm with you" in addressing Erso.

Whedon also posted a couple of joke taglines: "A rebellion built on angst & bile," and "They still don't save Alderaan." Harsh, Joss. The latter joke tagline is of course referring to Alderaan, the home planet of Princess Leia, which is destroyed in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope by the Death Star laser. We'll see how the Death Star laser's first test shot before that first fully realized shot goes in Rogue One.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is right up Joss Whedon's alley. The writer/director is famed for his affinity for strong, young female leads, after all, with stories like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse in his rear view mirror, and Kitty Pryde's starring role in his Astonishing X-Men comic book run for Marvel Comics. Jyn Erso marks a bit of a sea change for the Star Wars franchise, as the second leading female character in a row, following Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits US theaters December 16, 2016. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it's the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core "Skywalker Saga" of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue Onetells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."
