The midseason finale episodes are titled, “The Unveiling,” and “Children of Wrath,” airing at 9:00 pm ET and 10:00 pm ET, respectively. The synopsis for Episode 3×07 reads, “A new arrival sows a divide within the ranch. Meanwhile, Alicia forms a new relationship in the hopes of maintaining peace.” The synopsis for Episode 3×08 reads, “Madison must negotiate the terms of an agreement in the midst of ranch-wide turmoil. Nick and Alicia challenge their mother’s motives.”

Naturally, the Internet had their passionate responses to the episode which saw Jake Otto attempting to negotiate with Walker and communities having significant differences to settle.

In the final episodes the first half of Fear the Walking Dead‘s third season, the issues between Broke Jaw Ranch and Walker’s Native American clan will come to a potentially explosive conclusion. Walker insists the land on which the Otto family is residing belongs to him and his people while the Clark family has elected to defend it at any cost — going as far as lying to cover up Troy’s killing of the Trimbol family in order to strike fear into the community.

“Am I going to defend [Broke Jaw Ranch]? Yeah,” Jeremiah Otto actor Dayton Callie told ComicBook.com. “It’s like you own a house, you going to defend it? Yeah, you’re going to defend it. If you can if you’re capable. I’m hoping we’re capable. I got to get the other idiots to believe in it.”

One of the stronger points which will certainly showcase the best responses from fans is the return of Mercedes Mason as Ofelia.

Check out the Internet’s reactions to Fear the Walking Dead‘s midseason 3 finale by scrolling below! They are updated as the episode continues.

Hello Walker

To start the episode, Jake Otto defiantly trotted out to Walker’s camp at the Black Hat Motel. Alicia Clark went along for the dangerous ride. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a creepily hostile Walker who claimed they were “200 years too late” for peace.

Some fans who have previously watched The Walking Dead aren’t scared of a machete without a red handle, referencing Gareth’s at Terminus in the show’s fifth season.ย

Either way, no one wants to eat the pig.ย

Ofelia’s Return

Ofelia’s return to Fear the Walking Dead after being absent for all of Season 3 to date came subtly when she served Alicia, Walker, and Jake at the Black Hat Motel. It introduces an interesting new dynamic as the Clark’s have clearly aligned themselves with her enemy.ย

It was certainly an unexpected place for Ofelia’s return, even if fans did suspect her of being a part of Walker’s group.

Welcome back, Ofelia.

Nick’s Haircut

Good news and bad news…

Good news: Nick finally cut his hair! Bad news: He did it himself and it might not actually be an improvement.

Everyone is just glad to see the mop go.

Madison is Pissed!

When Jake returned to Broke Jaw Ranch, having left Alicia at the Black Hat Motel with Walker, Madison Clark went “mama bear” mode when she wanted to have her daughter home immediately.

At least Madison should be proud of her daughter, as the fans certainly are.ย

The Skull

In lecturing Alicia, Walker (orย Qualetaqua) revealed the skull of his family member which he had to dig up in order to protect it from the Otto family and their disrespecting of Native American land. Alicia had a bit of an unexpected response, revealing her newly developed perspective of death.

Some fans are beginning to side with Walker, it appears.

The Invasion

Madison and Troy decided it would be a good idea to invade the Black Hat Motel and the camp surrounding it. Turns out, this was not a good idea. Walker’s community is heavily armed and outnumbers Broke Jaw Ranch, so a firefightย ensued.ย

One fan compared Nick’s Batman-style attack on one of their enemies to Shiva’s heroics in The Walking Dead‘s Season 7 finale.ย

The Scalping

Jake insisted on speaking with Walker, even after Madison and Troy completely launched a war. Walker was ready to scalp the young Otto boy until Ofelia called him off.

Many fans thought Jake had reached the end of his road.

The apocalypse is no place for the moral compass type characters.

Clearly, Ofelia can pull some strings at the Black Hat Motel.ย

Poison!

Ofelia’s true colors were finally shown when the soldiers in Broke Jaw’s militia came down with a sudden illness and she fled, having poisoned them.

Tearing them down from the inside!

Such a twist has fans truly in love with Fear the Walking Dead.ย

She even poisoned Nick.

Jake — You Mad?

Madison is always just trying to help at Broke Jaw Ranch, sometimes a little aggressively, and it’s starting to get to Jake Otto as he tries to tend to the anthrax attack’s survivors.ย

It got so heated that Jake yelled at Madison, telling her she is not in charge.

Some fans were actually siding with Jake Otto.

But not everyone…!

Is any of it really going to matter after Walker attacks, though?

Digging Up The Past

Nick took a shovel to the floor of his room and literally dug up the past. He discovered a skull with a bullet hole which Jeremiah revealed to belong to Walker’s father. The information revealed an interesting new perspective of the feud.

And most fans want Jeremiah dead as a result.

Some really want to see the Clark family get themselves out of the middle of this fight.

The Astronaut

When Victor Strand found the Abigail yacht, he also found a radio which would receive a signal from outer space. A Russian cosmonaut by the name of Vaschenkoย had a quick conversation with the Earth-bound survivor.

It was a touching moment for many.

Are we going to be dealing with zombie astronauts, though?

Madison’s Dark Past

Madison finally revealed her dark past to the kids before going to have a final conversation with Jeremiah regarding the feud with Walker. They were shocked to learn that she had killed her own father to protect her mother.

The big reveal was met with some serious applause.
