A couple of years ago, no one would have ever attempted to put Dave Chappelle and The Walking Dead in the same sentence, let alone wish that the comedy icon would find a way to appear on the show.

Yet, here we are. While hosing Saturday Night Live, Chappelle rocked the house with a hilarious spoof of Negan’s line-up from the season seven premiere. The clip went viral, and people starting pining for Chappelle to have some kind of cameo on The Walking Dead.

Unfortunately, Greg Nicotero and Norman Reedus have made it very clear that that isn’t going to happen.

During an interview with Fandom, Nicotero, Reedus, and Christian Serratos sat down to discuss the show. The trio were asked if celebrities ever ask to portray walkers on the show.

Apparently, celebs are always asking to have a cameo in the show, and they often want to play one of the walkers. However, most of the time, they want to be recognized.

Nicotero stated that he would never let someone famous be a walker unless they were completely unrecognizable. He feels that seeing the face of a celebrity takes the viewer out of the experience, and ruins the moment.

This is where Reedus chimed in, saying Chappelle wanted to be on the show, and be recognized as a walker. Both immediately agreed that it would never happen.
