James Gunn has no interest in playing a walker on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

This random bit of news comes via Facebook. Gunn posted a photo of himself with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) from a Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 fan event in Tokyo and the image prompted a fan to ask Gunn to please cameo as a walker on the hit AMC series.

Gunn gave the idea a hard pass, writing, “Haha I would hate that. Makeup in hotlanta for hours? No thanks! My editor Fred Raskin did it though.”

Gunn knows a thing or two about the makeup and prosthetics process. He’s directing Guardians of the Galaxy, which include Gamora, Drax, Yondu, Nebula, Ayesha, Taserface, the Ravagers, and any number of other random aliens from the outer reaches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all of whom require extensive makeup and practical effects to bring to life and make believable.

The Walking Dead recently concluded its seventh season on AMC. Fan will return to the popular, post-apocalyptic zombie world for The Walking Dead Season 8 in October. The Walking Dead spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead, will return for its third season in June 2017.
