Daryl
The first photo appears to be from the same scene as the first photo from Season 8 which saw Carol and Daryl reuniting as they prepare for battle. In this new photo, if it needs explaining, Daryl is heavily armed and ready to ride straight into the war.
"It feels like our original show again," Daryl actor Norman Reedus promised in an interview with CNet. "I didn't love last season, shooting it. I didn't see anyone. I was crying all the time. I was naked and eating dog food. It was just no fun. This season feels like our show again."
This season promises to be drastically different for Daryl by comparison to its predecessor. As Daryl is now officially ready to rally with his fellow survivors to take on Negan, he spent much of Season 7 being humiliated and tortured by the Saviors.
The Kings
In a photo which appears to be taken from the Season 8 premiere clip released during The Walking Dead Season 8 preview special on Sunday night, Kingdom leader King Ezekiel and Alexandrian leader Rick Grimes are ready to take the fight to Negan.
"For the fans in Season 8, you're gonna see your characters turn into super heroes this year," Jerry actor Cooper Andrews said. "You're gonna see your characters go through some hard times and you're gonna see them at some of their strongest moments. As a fan, I'm just, 'Ahhh!'"
Andrews' co-stars agree.
"On set, the attitude was very much, 'Yeah, we're gonna do this! We're gonna take the fight back!'" Jesus actor Tom Payne said. "Everyone was very excited to have the guns in hand and be the aggressors for once in the situation and not be cowered by Negan in that instance."
