Nickelodeon has announced that it is developing a TV movie that will revive the late '90s/early 2000's series Hey Arnold!

Hey Arnold! focused on the misadventures of the football-headed titular protagonist and his friends. Nickelodeon tells Variety that the movie will pick up where the series let off, and will resolve unanswered questions like the whereabouts of Arnold's parents.

Chris Viscardi, creator of Hey Arnold! and other classic Nickelodeon series like The Adventures of Pete & Pete, is now the network's senior vice president of content development for franchise properties. This role is brand new, and is specifically aimed at reviving classic Nickelodeon properties. Hey Arnold! is among the first, but more are sure to come.

"Kids who grew up on these characters are now of the age that they are having kids and families themselves," said Russell Hicks, president, content development and production, for Nickelodeon Group, in an interview with Variety. "Our library has come to fruition and it's time for it to start coming back to life."

Nickelodeon decline to pinpoint a specific window for the Hey Arnold! movie revival.
