While Shredder is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles most recognizable villain, not far behind him is Krang, the little pink blob with weird tentacle arms that has somehow wormed his way into most fans hearts.

Now that little pink pile of "bleggh" with eyes has a new voice, courtesy of Everybody Loves Raymond and Till Death Actor Brad Garrett, according to the Los Angeles Times. Many believed that SNL and Portlandia Actor Fred Armisen woudl be occupying the role of Krang due to an announcement made at WonderCon, but scheduling issues led to the switch.

The most recognizable take on Krang is from the original animated series, where his nasal voice (played by actor Pat Fraley) constantly belittled Shredder and his soldiers The Foot Clan. At this point, I think most fans have a Krang impression, similar to how everyone on the planet now has a Christopher Walken they're just dying to pull out at parties. Garrett has a naturally lower octave range, and could lead to a much more menacing take on the character.

Krang isn't alone, however, as seen in the trailer. Making the trip with him is his Exo suit and the Technodrome, which always seemed imposing but never actually did anything of real substance in the original cartoon. From the appearance of things in the most recent trailer, it seems the moving fortress has stepped up its game. Also making their first appearances in the TMNT film universe are Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams), and Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly/Sheamus).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows which opens in theaters on June 2nd.
