This morning, the first photos of Jaime Parker as Harry Potter, Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, and Sam Clemmett as Harry and Ginny's son, Albus Severus Potter, in the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were released. Harry Potter is a franchise with a devout fanbase, and many of those fans grew up with the story and its characters, reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone as children around Harry' age in 1997, and following it through the release of the final movie in Warner Bros. film adaptation, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, nearly 15 years later.
Considering this relationship between fans and the series protagonist, fans have been understandably moved to see him as an adult with a family in the first portraits from The Cursed Child.
Several fans have taken to Twitter to express their feelings about seeing the Potter family for the first time (other than the epilogue at the end of The Deathly Hallows). Most of those feelings seem to be quite positive, with some fans already trying to figure out how they'll get ot London to see the show. Others have been "visibily" emotional.
Another excuse to go back to the UK. #HarryPotter #CursedChild #London @HPPlayLDN

I suddenly have tears in my eyes, I'm getting all the feels and I don't know why... pic.twitter.com/Uj84E6XiGR
Some feel like these actors are channeling the characters from J.K. Rowling's novels even more than the actors from the film franchise.
@HPPlayLDN @jk_rowling I mean I like the movie version but these guys are walking right out of the book

Some are noting a certain family resemblence between Harry and his father.

And that he seems like he has "matured" quite a bit.
@HPPlayLDN Harry looks like he needs a stiff drink

Fans seemed to have had a mixed reaction to the characters' costuming.
Bomb casting by @HPPlayLDN, my only complaint is that Harry Potter would never be in a three piece suit like ever

One fan noted that Parker seemed a bit too old to be a 37-year-old Harry, though another fan posed a counterargument.
@Phinmeister @judeinlondon @HPPlayLDN malnutrition as a child + being a Horcrux does that to you. Premature ageing, Voldemorts legacy

And another tried to jump start the requisite disapproving hashtag.

But according to one fan, at least two other British icons approve.
